Welcome to St Patrick's College Drama Department
St Patrick's College has a growing reputation for Drama and the Performing Arts. The new Drama Studio has excellent facilities which include a combined performance and rehearsal space complete with sound system and will soon include a professional theatre lighting rig. This will allow students to gain knowledge into all aspect of Drama including technical theatre.
The school enjoys a close partnership with The Lyric Theatre and Grand Opera House. Miss Johnston, Head of Drama is Vice Chair for the Northern Ireland Drama Teacher Association and has established many professional links for the Drama Department.
St Patrick's College has been very lucky to take part in Stage Combat Workshops in association with the Lyric Theatre and Ian McCracken from The Academy of Performance Combat as well as acting classes with the Verbal Arts Centre, Derry.
Qualifications in drama can lead to careers in theatre, TV, education, stage management and costume design to name but a few. Our Past Pupil Hall of Fame includes names such as John Linehan, Martin Lynch, Martin Mc Cann and John Travers. The Drama and Performing Arts industries are vibrant and strong in Belfast and we encourage all students to build their confidence and self esteem threw Drama.

Key Stage Three
Students follow the Northern Ireland Curriculum for Drama. Students in Year 8-10 get one 40 minute period of Drama per week.
